Birdies For Breast Cancer is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, that focuses its efforts on raising money for breast cancer research. It was founded in 2003 when Cristie Kerr learned that her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with the disease. Linda fought so hard to beat this terrible cancer and fortunately she recovered and is doing well. Her sister and mother have also battled this disease….and fortunately are in remission and doing well. The Kerr family saw first hand what this disease could do and were among the really lucky ones.

Cristie knew she had to do something to help fight this horrible disease that had afflicted her family. She thought about how lucky she was to be healthy and thought of those less fortunate then her.

After speaking to Evelyn Lauder, founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and learning what great progress has been made through properly funded research, Cristie decided to take action. So in 2003…a few months after her mother was diagnosed…B4BC was born.
