A couple months ago, I attended Dr. Wayne Dryers lecture “Excuses Be Gone” in Santa Monica. His opening remarks were about his personal belly fat loss, just by reducing his sugar intake to less than 20 grams a day as recommended by Jorge Cruise.

Wanting to trim down and get rid of my belly fat, which I know is a precursor to diabetes and tight pants, I decided no more excuses. I had to put together a plan and loose the belly fat.

I took a hard look at my diet. It was good, except for the ice cream I ate every night. However, I love ice cream even on cold nights with hot coffee. I went to my local supermarket and started reading ice cream labels. What I found out is that there is sugar in no-sugar-added ice cream, and lots of it.

Weight Watchers, Healthy Choice, Byers no sugar added, sugar-free all have sugar. To stay under the 20grams of sugar a day, that meant only a small scoop of ice cream a night! (I am a two-bowl person.)

Then I found Clemmy’s. I never heard of this brand before, so I read the label: absolutely zero sugar, and the fat content was low. I bought a carton of vanilla and a day later went back for more. Clemmy’s is the only ice cream we keep in house now. We use it to make root beer floats, pie ala mode, and smoothies.

No more excuses for me, and no more tight pants.
